Costume Design
To me, the best designs whether it be a costume, streetwear, or evening dress helps the wearer to feel their best. My philosophy is to always uplift individuals and help them shine. I strive to help everyone of all shapes and sizes feel confident in the body they have. When something fits just right there is always a feeling of strength and confidence that translates well to a performance on stage or in life.
I love to play with interesting textiles. I explore bold combinations in color and pattern with a tasteful eye and thoughtful editing.
One of my favorite aspects of design is the technical side of drafting patterns. There is a mathematic beauty in manipulating darts to turn a flat sloper into a sculptural 3d garment.
The experience I have in costume design, pattern making, and clothing construction has made me a well-rounded designer with the ability to take a design concept from a sketch to a fully functional well fitting garment.
I brake for birds. I rock a lot of polka dots. I have touched glitter in the last 24 hours. I spend my entire day talking to children...And that doesn't mean I'm not smart and tough and strong.
